SHES STILL GOT IT

Why is it that we have to hate the things in life that are so obviously amazing and indulgent?  Just because its OBVIOUSLY great and amazing doesn’t mean that we hate to shun away from it. Take CK for example. In my mind the most influential fashionista of the 2000s. Shes so brilliant and amazing yet her name is looked down on. I mean…shes perfect! The above pic was probablly taken AGES ago yet is still fashion forward towards next spring. Oversized Denim Jacket, 90s man shoes, kid socks, new age necklaces. I MEAN……get over youselves and just admit it COREY KENNEDY RULES!!

DENIM+LEATHER=ALEXANDER WANG

Sorry laides…we had to do it. We HAD to blog about the ALexander Wang Denim and Leather Jacket. I mean….what kind of bloggers would we be if we didn’t??

With fall fashion around the corner, it aint not secret that denim/leather combos will be all up in the streets of NYC. Many a diy fashion and recessionistas will be lusting over the real thing yet making themselves feel better about not being able to purchase the A.W. jacket combo by either layering a denim vest over a classic must have Leather Jacket or simply just attaching leather sleeves! GENIOUS.

This brings on another question: How far can we go with this leather+denim=love sensation? Not only can we mix colors and variations of leather and denim vest jackets….but we can move the trend to other parts of the body as well! Im talking leather/denim mini purses, denim fishermans jackets w leather shoulder details, braided leather and denim headbands and bracelets. The possiblities are LITTERALLY ENDLESSS!

I know, I know…It’s just BARELY getting hot and sticky underground on the waiting for the L train. But lets face it. Fall is almost here. Spring and summer merch is being pushed out retail store’s doors. Warehouse sales, sample sales, end of season sales. All must go!

 

But wait. IF all of this spring stuff is leaving…what’s going to drain our pockets next? FALL. Fall fall fall. This years fall fashion is going to be all about sheer fabrics, burnout detail, mesh yokes, all weather boots, and YES- still all about the 90s.
